This is what Jade said about planning the party- “Rock-n-Roll guitars, colorful tutus and microphone dominated the stage. We didn’t focus on the romance this shoot, OH-NO! We wanted to show the fun side of love, the astounding parts, and the parts that makes you say Love Rocks. But of course you couldn’t have Valentines without sweet treats, yummy cup cakes with sparkly frosting, gumballs, and cookies showing the heart of friendship.

Lastly, what would a Valentines be if we didn’t have cards to write our sweet nothings in, “Be Mine” “ Kiss Me” & “I Love You”? Hand written by those you love and adore most! All captured by the keen eye of Noi from Noi Tran Photography”.

“Roses are red, violets are blue, we LOVE this “Be My Valentine” party and hope you do too! Classic red, white and pink with accents of turquoise and brown craft give this special soiree an old-fashioned, vintage feel. The adorable bunting is carried from the invitation to the dessert table pennant banner. A charming and delicate tissue ball and flower chandelier floats above. Hearts, polka dots and doilies adorn everything from the table runner, balloons and party hats to the straws, sprinkles and cupcake toppers.

It’s simply love at first sight! There are so many sweet-tooth enticing elements in this party, including heart & arrow sugar cookies, the candy bar, cupcakes and even heart-shaped lollipop rings. Little sweet hearts can make and exchange handmade Valentine’s and fill up on treats at this extra lovely celebration. When a group of talented crafters comes together for a Valentine's Day party, the resulting handmade valentines are as hip as they are heartfelt.

Back in 2003, when Maura Madden invited friends to her New York apartment to make valentines one afternoon, she never thought the gluing and painting would still be going strong after midnight. "We just had an amazing time -- it was more fun than I could have imagined," says Madden, who embraced her childhood love of crafting that day.

After that, she started getting people together for knitting, sewing, and jewelry-making, and began inviting more friends and friends of friends. The events outgrew her apartment and moved to cozy bars and restaurants. Fast-forward eight years, and Madden has written a book, "Crafternoon," on crafting parties and cohostsHandmade Crafternoon, a monthly salon at the main branch of the New York Public Library.

This is what Jesi said about styling and planning the party- “This was a Valentine’s Day Picnic photo shoot I did for Carousel Magazine’s Valentine’s Day Issue. It was a small dessert table styled at a nearby park during a freezing cold winter day.

I made a vanilla cake, chocolate dipped marshmallows, valentine cookies with edible lace, heart chocolate covered Oreos, and pretty white chocolates. I stayed with the traditional pink, red and white, and put in my shabby chic twist on it.”
